First day of school

Woohoo! School started!

As strange as it sounds, I was looking forward to school all summer, because school is so much fun! (for me...) Also, RAGEN CAME TO TRCS!!! I love having Ragen at TRCS because she is the sweetest (and greatest) person who ever lived. I'm super sad that Maddie graduated TRCS because she was also a great person to have around!
I can't believe that Maddie is actually in HIGH SCHOOL! It seems like such a scary thing to me...AAH! Luckily, it has been a fairly easy switch for her, and she has great new (and old) friends that she hangs out with. Also, Maddie is doing cross-country for the first time, and she is loving it!
This is SO random, but today, our school walked to the park for a P.E. soccer unit, and we got to meet a Portland Timbers men's reserve team player! He was really nice, and he had SUPER curly hair, and it was really cool! I wanted to walk up to him and feel his afro!
Anyways...life is good in the hood! :D

These AMAZING Boots Were Made For Walking...

Lately, I have had some free time to surf the internet for fun, crafty, and cute ideas to use. I came across somebody's GENIUS idea to take boring old cowboy boots and make them so cute that it's unbelievable!
Take a look for yourself! I'm looking forward to making them myself...I hope you are too!

For Those Who Wear Mascara...

A couple of days ago, when I was at Sephora, I learned a really cool [and potentially useful] fact! You know how when you pull the mascara stick/brush thing out of the bottle, and it has that little clump of mascara on the end? I usually scrape it off, and most people do, right? Well don't! The lady there told me that what most women don't know is that you can use that to make your eyelashes look even longer, or you can make the cat-eye look!

For the longer eyelashes:
Take the clump and dab it right on the middle part of your eyelashes. Then, you brush it out and VWALA! Your eyelashes look longer. Make sure you get the clumps out though, because otherwise it looks not-so-hot.

For the cat-eye look:
Take the clump and dab it at the end of your eyelashes. Then, brush it out...and...VWALA! You have the cat-eye look! Make sure you get the clumps out though, because otherwise it looks...you know...

Thanks for reading!

If any of you are wondering what my posting of clothes and such it is from a website called Polyvore. It is a fashion website where you make 'sets' of clothes that are high fashion and stuff! I will be posting some of my 'sets' on this blog, so...hooray!

Correction on Location!

Today when we went to Maddie's party, it was actually at Mary S. Young park. The funny thing is, not many people know that there is a hidden beach on the river, and a cute little island that you can hang out on!

We got there, and had a blast! We swam, ate bagels, ate Oreo cookies, and caught little fish! It was sooooo much fun!

George Rogers Park for BFFs Birthday!!!

Today, I am going to George Rogers Park for my best friend Maddie's birthday! I'm gonna be picked up in a couple of minutes, but I just wanted to blog about today a little!

For Maddie's birthday, I made her the cool bracelet that I made with my aunt yesterday...I hope she likes it! The threading is pink not blue this time, and pink looks really cool!

I'll try and get on later today to post about how much fun we had today!

Cousins Galore!

I haven't posted about anything almost the whooooooole summer, and that is sad! I need to blog more!
Anyways...
I wanted to post about the amazing fun I have had with my cousins this summer!

Joey, Finn, and Cooper moved to town from St. Louis, and we are so excited! Cooper is the cutest to be with, Finnigan is the craziest kid you'll ever meet, and Joey is the most hilarious person ever! We have had so much fun with them over the summer, and that includes watching cooper for a couple of days, hiking with Finnigan, and going to the beach with Joey!

Chantal is in town from L.A., and we have missed her sooo much! She is the sweetest person ever! It is so fun to go swimming with her and play fun games!

Davis and Lauren are in town from La Quinta, and today we actually went berry picking with them! We had a BLAST! Davis is hilarious, and Lauren is sweet as can be! We are so glad they are in town!

That is my cousin recap for the summer, and I will most likely post about a cool craft I did with my aunt Lisa soon! Until Later,

Random Yet Hilarious

I miss blogging! It is so fun, and I simply haven't had the time to share my favorite thoughts with everyone! Here's one of my most favorite stories about random yet hilarious things:

A few days ago, my mom and I were at Michaels craft store to get some clay for a project I was working on. We had to wait around 5 minutes in line with our fellow line-buddies to finally get our stuff bought. Within those 5 minutes of boring nothingness, none of us were creative enough to think up anything to do except for one genius guy who was in line to buy an abnormally large vase. He held the open end of the vase up to his ear and, in his own little world, began to tap on it. Apparently, he was extremely mesmerized with the noise it made, so he just kept on tapping. After around one minute of him serenading us with his beautiful vase playing, he stopped. Dear Mr. Vase Man, you are one of the greatest vase-players I have ever heard. Thank you for filling my day with random yet hilarious thoughts!

I haven't posted in FOREVER! I'll try to catch you up on what has been happening in the Finklea family lately:
*We had the GREATEST Christmas ever!
*Morgan started Lacrosse practices
*Maddie got more into photography!
*Ragen has been simply her cute little self!
*Morgan and Maddie went to outdoor school and survived a TSUNAMI! Aaaah! (I'll explain more later in this post!)
LOTS more has happened, but that's what I can think of off of the top of my head. One of the most recent happenings is outdoor school. Maddie and I went and had a great time despite the rain! The 2nd day, we went swamping in mushy, smelly mud and we had a blast. My favorite part was when I fell KNEE deep into a hole of mud, and I had to have a teacher help me out! The very next day, we did microbiology, and we were looking at one-celled-organisms under a microscope. My friends and I found a colony of cells, and they were moving and everything (it was called an Amoeba)! The day after THAT we dissected crafish, and it was the most fun thing EVER! Even though all of my friends were afraid to get into it, I dove right in and learned so much (but I'm never eating crafish EVER again after knowing what the insides of it look). The NEXT day, Thursday, we had just a fun, chill day with delicious food for ALL meals! And then Friday came, the day after the tsunami and earthquake happened in Japan. At 3:00 in the morning, my teacher came in as calmly as she could that there was going to be a tsunami on the beach at 7:00 that morning. (outdoor school is on the beach, right next to Lincoln City) We all had to get up and dressed with the warmest clothes we brought and hike a mile to the top of the camp so that we would not be hit by the tsunami. Now, try to imagine 100 kids crammed in to three 10x10 cabins for 6 hours waiting for a tsunami. It was INSANITY! Luckily, kids were keeping their cool, and they just stared at the window waiting for a tsunami that ended up not happening. SO after ALL of that trama, nothing happened, but it was a fun start to the day! We had one hour to clean up our cabins, get packed and clean up the WHOLE entire camp before we left that day, and we managed! It was one of the most exciting days EVER, and now I can say, "I have survived a tsunami!" Yay! I have to go to bed! Love you all!
